Visit Maldives concludes superyacht campaign with presence at global yacht shows

Visit Maldives Corporation has wrapped up its inaugural superyacht promotion initiative, marking significant participation at two premier international yachting conferences — the MYBA Charter Show and the Monaco Yacht Show.

The campaign, which began in late 2025, aimed to establish the Maldives as a premier luxury yacht tourism destination. It directly targeted affluent individuals, vessel proprietors, charter intermediaries, and industry professionals.

Ground-level activations at major yacht conferences served as a cornerstone of the strategy. The destination showcased its superyacht amenities at both events through customised promotional materials and branded collateral distributed to professionals and onboard yacht teams. This direct engagement with key decision-makers in the yachting sector substantially increased international visibility.

The initiative also encompassed a substantial digital component branded "Superyacht Destination Maldives", incorporating a dedicated website platform, focused social media initiatives, and outreach to maritime captains and brokers. Combining physical event presence with digital expansion maximised worldwide promotion.

Visit Maldives additionally engaged with the Superyacht Spice Route initiative, reinforcing the nation's strategic position on global shipping corridors and strengthening visibility within premium yachting communities.

Metrics from digital platforms, stakeholder interactions, and event participation demonstrate encouraging outcomes, with measurable increases in visibility, contact inquiries, and industry engagement following the yacht show activations.

Ibrahim Shiuree, the organisation's chief executive, noted: "These engagements allow us to directly connect with the global yachting community."

The organisation plans to amplify participation at major international yacht exhibitions, deepen sector alliances, and implement focused initiatives to boost superyacht arrivals. This effort aligns with comprehensive tourism diversification objectives targeting premium visitor demographics.
