Corrections

When the paper gets something wrong, we correct it — openly, promptly, and on the original page.

Maldives Today aims to be accurate. When we fall short, we correct the record. Substantive errors of fact are corrected on the original story with a dated note explaining what changed. Minor typographical corrections are made silently.

If you believe something in the paper is wrong, please write to us at corrections@maldivestoday.com. Include the headline, the date of publication, and the specific passage you are flagging, with a link if possible. A reporter or editor will respond.

Our standard

Corrections are reviewed by an editor. We do not remove published stories except in narrow circumstances — for example, where continuing publication would expose a source to serious risk, or where required by law. Even then, an explanatory note is left in place of the original.
