President Appoints Ali Shareef as Minister of Climate Change, Environment and Energy

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has officially appointed Mr. Ali Shareef as the Minister of Climate Change, Environment and Energy.

The appointment ceremony was held today at the President’s Office, where Mr. Ali Shareef took his oath of office. Following the appointment, the President presented him with the Letter of Appointment.

Mr. Ali Shareef brings extensive experience to the role, particularly in the fields of climate policy, environmental management and renewable energy. His leadership is expected to be pivotal as the Maldives continues to advocate for climate justice on the global stage and works toward achieving its ambitious renewable energy targets for 2028.
